oh life

Hot sun, I sat in my car at coastal highway this afternoon. Seeing the wind made the trees dance and cloud moving slowly... Looking at the sea, I suddenly felt the time was slowing down. I almost fell in sleep...

cleaning room

the first thing i wanna do after my resignation is cleaning my room... i am not a tidy person, but it is important to clean it now as i gonna spend most of my time in the room.

Goodbye

Today is my last working day. Time flies, it has been 5 years. There is a begin and there is an end, or you can say there is an end and then there is a begin. It is sad to leave but I will never regret that. It is time to say goodbye...

Growing

It is not easy for me to quit my job and heading to uncertainty. I have been thinking and thinking again my decision, but at this moment I do not regret. Imagine, I have a half of glass that filled with water, and I am going to empty it to fill with other stuff. Anyway, life is one way ticket journey and we learn thru the good and bad experiences. Changing is a opportunity, at least for better things to happen. Seeing a planting growing from seed that I planted is so much pressure than just buying it from nursery.

Things to do

Boring meeting... I grabbed my pen and and thought about what to do after my resignation...

hm.. here the list go.

1. clean my room and reorganize my stuffs.
2. start a biz...
3. go hiking every week.
4. read and learn something else...
5. take good care of my plants, fishes, and develop other hobbies :)

define life

there are times we sit down and think what life suppose to be, are we heading to the direction we wanted? what are the most important things in your life? wealth is not altimate goal, but rather lead us to the path we design. i have traded in my precious time for the money and it is time to have my life back and review the next goal. it is better to work for ourselves rather than others. even it is less than what we made today, but it is worth for it.

Take a breath

Working life is like non-stop racing... and the game is never end. I just feel tired, mentality tired and bored. What's going wrong? I feel like just want to walk away like that. The reality is so out from my internal desire. The world is sick, and I am going out of the game soon.

Robbing the people

I doubt the gov has ever used their mind before increasing the petrol price. They just fooling people by comparing petrol price with non oil producer countries. Yea, oil price is hiking, but Malaysia is also producing oil which should benefit rom the high price...Tell the people, where the money goes? now, oil price up, electricity price up, roti canai also up, bla bla bla... up up up...

Abandoned egg

2 weeks ago, I took this pic when seeing the bird mother hatching eggs on the nest. It was just on a tree behind my house. Unfortunately, a week after that mum told me the mother bird left and never back because the kids played around the tree. since then, I took the egg and trying to hatch it myself by putting on a bulb. Anyhow now, I have a mix feelings on it. I was asking myself, should I hatch it or just left as it is. The more I think, the more I feel that I shouldn't do this. The nature has its own way to create or eliminate life, which human shouldn't interfere it.

I Don't Want To Sleep Alone = CRAP

I watched it since it was shot at somewhere in KL. The main character never speak a word until the end of movie, acts like a dumb or stupid person... The movie brings the KL's most ugly side to the audiences and no wonder the gov ban this movie... more and more the storyline is so unconvincing and bored, the director must be live in his owns dream...

Food price

In recent days, we see riots have been broken out in some countries and food price surges to unreasonable high. The reasons are simple, biofuel so called energy revolution and disaster.

The rising biofuels production in the US and European Union consumes almost half of major food crops in the past year. Higher energy and fertilizer costs have also contributed to higher prices for all agricultural commodities. Most of these are likely to be permanent.

Droughts, especially in countries south of the equator, reduced wheat production in last year. And post-election violence in Kenya has led to shortages and price hikes in neighboring countries as well as Kenya.

I don't know it is a good idea to turn the food to fuel. it impacts most of the poor people. Imagine the people in Africa is dying because of hunger while some people are burning the food for the energy... god bless...

Taiwan politic show

wow.. watching Taiwan politic news in tv is just like watching tv shows :p which my parents love a lot. $29.8 million Papua New Guinea diplomatic relations fund just missing like that huh. hmm.. those ppl who under President Chen are just like him - corrupted.
It is pity for Taiwan who always need to "buy" relationship from other countries. Since China is going stronger day by day, it diplomatic allies are just a few countries in Africa.
However, the good thing is Taiwan is really a democracy country, when the scandal was reveal, all the medias and people can talk and critic about it which I think we are still far for this.

Windows Vista

Sigh... windows sucks...

After getting my new HP tx2132au tablet PC, the windows vista really give me some troubles when come to installing, customising and configurating my own laptop. Plus, I cannot install a lot of my pirated softwares on it. They just not compatible with Vista. So, I have to spend time again to find and test on other softwares.

That day, my friend and I were trying to call each other using net meeting. Guess what, the microsoft has taken out the net meeting features in window vista. Replacing net meeting with new one is ok, but the problem is net meeting is neither communicate with windows meeting space nor microsoft office live meeting. huh... surprise uh!

"NetMeeting is no longer included with Windows Vista , and has been replaced by Windows Meeting Space and Microsoft Office Live Meeting" -- Wikipedia

well, people may just shrug and say just uninstall it and reinstall another OS, what is the big deal? hmm.. it is a big deal if I wanna have the touch screen features on my laptop :/

Fantaghirò

This drama series was showed in TV when I was in high school. It was the only fairy tale in tv show that I still remember today. After more than ten years, and thanks to P2P, recently we have seen the series was uploaded to net and shared thru the whole world. I personally think this drama series is a lot better than the lord of the ring or harry potter... it is about magic and romance, prince, princess, kingdom, knight, archery...

Random Thoughts

I went home early this evening. Sitting in front of my PC, I am thinking what happy life is suppose to be. Just wondering, how many people know exactly what they are doing now. Does they feel good for what they are doing? I wonder, are we just rushing for nothing?

I saw a man pursuing the horizon;
Round and round they sped.
I was disturbed at this;
I accosted the man.
"It is futile" I said,
"You can never ......"

"You lie" he cried,
And ran on.

The Spring soft launch

When we went to E&O hotel yesterday afternoon, they only left 2 non- bumi units at 2nd floor. Unbelievable, I doubt why people got so much money, buying condo is like buying cheap stuffs in pasar malam :/

My friend is interested to get one, since it has good developer, strategic location and plus the developer claimed that all units are sea view unit.

So we went to the Spring construction side later to see look see look. Well, definitely you need at least 5th floor or above to have the sea view. The lower floors were obviously block by Nautilus Bay 3 storey terrace houses.

I think the bigger problem is the nearby dump site. There are some ppl posted in internet said there is smoke coming from the dump site every night and the place is smelly during raining season and low tide. Oooohh, I don't how true it is, but a conservative buyer will not take any risks. RM250K is not cheap d.

World Music Festival 2008 - Penang

Recently there are a number of banners showing the world music festival will held in May. Just now I google out the web site and saw the price is RM50 per pax per night... tsk, tsk.. expensive, why MBF card holder got 30% discount?? and then after that i read following...

"Open air on a breezy evening under the romantic night skies, the Botanic Gardens will play venue to the three scintillating evenings of the “World Music Festival 2008 • Penang” that will start on 2 – 4 May 2008"

hmm... open air huh? no no no.... I just now just wet like "dropped soup chicken" when stepping out from the office... dann heavy rain though now is not a raining season :/

HP TX2032AU in PC fair

Specifications:
AMD Athlon 64 X2 TK-57 (1.9GHz)

12.1 WXGA HD HP BrightViewWide touch screen Display
DWD +/- RW Double Layer Drive with LightScribe
NVIDIA GeForce Go 6150
Wireless 802.11a/b/g, Bluetooth
Microsoft Windows Viata Home Premium

The HP Pavilion TX2032AU tablet PC that run on AMD Athlon 64 X2 TK-57 (1.9GHz) only cost RM2799 in last week PC fair. The tablet PC was sold out soon on saturday. Anyway, I get a friend to help me bought the table PC with RM2799 later. It is fun to have a touch screen laptop, but the drawback is I cannot install my pitared windows XP on this PC and need to search for the softwares that compatible with Vista. I am not AMD fan, anyway I read the processor review online, Athlon 64 X2 can be fight with Intel Core 2 Duo technology, but it will be a bit more power consumption. I guess I won't use the battery power very frequent, so I am ok for it.

One thing I would like to mention is the original price stated in the flyer only true until last week. I did went to HP malaysia web site check the price before buying it, and yes the price is RM3999. However, I went to HP official web site check again the price today, hmm... the price is now RM2999. Well, they have new modals like tx2028AU and tx2029AU which I didn't see it previously. No wonder lar they slashed the price to 2799 in PC fair.

One week after PC fair, the price droped from 3999 to 2999.

We stopped at the Bayan Lepas coastal high way again during lunch time...
It was a gloomy day...

HLeBroking

I signed up Hong Leong E broking services today. I guest it has the lowest broker fee in Malaysia. The minimum broker fee just RM12 and 0.42%. If I am not mistaken, OSK and CIMB iTrade are changing minimum RM28 broker fee. Futhermore, the interface is not bad :)

I was trying to buy Padini this morning at 3.16, but unfortunately it didn't match...

Pikom PC Fair 2008 at Piza

I bought a Olympus digital camera last weekend at PC fair. The FE 270 seems very user friendly and worth for its price. With RM399, it came with free tripod, hand pressing flash light, cleaning cloth, neck strap and 1GB memory card. The seller really tried hard to sell out the products, especially it was the last day. Initially, I was looking for a canon camera, but its price and size doesn't look attractive evet is is well known for its digital camera. Besides, I tend to get cheaper digital stuffs, because the price will drop dramatically in very short period and the technology change faster than you can think. So, what is the point to get the best one? Except for the memory card (Olympus uses its own memory card) this camera is worth to buy at 399 :)

Pizza Hut Sucks

Look at the following pictures, you will know why I say Pizza Hut sucks. We ordered 1 Prawn Olio spaghetti and 1 Seafood Lasagna for dinner. To my surprise, the so called Prawn Olio spaghetti only has 2 small prawns, 4-5 pieces of mushroom and 3 dried chilies. Wow, it costs $8.90! Then I took a look the menu again, the picture in the menu is totally misleading. After, waiting for a long long time, until my friend has finished the spaghetti, then only my seafood lasagna was serving. I felt like I only biting the pasta for the first bite. Curiously, I took the pasta layers out, and trying to see what they put inside. I didn't see anything between top and the second layers. Well, there are something between the 2nd and 3rd layers. Guess what? They just put a few small prawns on it. The 5 cent coin also bigger than the prawns. Pizza Hut really sucks....

Prawn Olio Spaghetti, roadside Cha Koew Teow is better :p

Prawn Olio spaghetti in the menu, it looks better right?

Seafood Lasagna, I think the serving is just enough for the kid.

What? 5 cent coin also bigger than the prawn. How dare they call it seafood lasagna!

Mushroom Course

Previouly I went to University Pertanian Malaysia (UPM) attend a mushroom short course. It took 2 days and we have learned how to grow the mushroom e.g. Oyster Mushroom indoor. The raw meterials are including sawdust (habuk kayu) , padi straw (dedak padi halus) and Kalsium Karbonat. They need to be mixed together with water. They were packed and stim for a few hours. The Inoculating process was done once the bags become cold. It takes around 3 month for Incubating bags. After this, the bags are ready to be opened for harvesting :)

Wind surfing

hmm.. I never see someone did wind surfing at Penang coaster highway before, but I saw a guy was doing that during lunch, when the sun is so strong... We saw him surfing back and forth between Penang Island and Pulau Jerejak ( Jerejak Island).

I just don't when I will have time to do my own stuffs, simple things become luxury...

Manhattan Fish Market

My friend attended a farewell lunch at Manhattan Fish Market, she ordered the set lunch (baked fish with banana leaf) which to her dissapointment "so-so only".

Manhattan Fish Market at Queensbay Mall Penang, Malaysia

Tides are low today... as usual i was really tired and 'sian', however things starts to pick up again after 'certain hours' (if you know what i mean...).

Phuket

We went to Phuket about 2 weeks ago. Initially, I thought it is a quiet island with nice beaches. Well, yes, there are a few nice beaches there, the water is clean and clear, you even can see the fishes swimming there. However, the Patong which is where we stay is too developed and commercialized. The first impression is there are a lot of 24 hours mini marts, pharmacy stores, hotels and guesthouses. The road is busy no matter day or night.

I was trying to rent a motorbike when we touched down at Phuket Airport. However, we were told that Motorbike rental is available in Patong but not in Airport. At the end, we took the mini van to Patong. It costs 150 baht each person.

The first two nights, we stayed at Max Guest House which run by an expat. The price here is 800 baht per night. The people here are very friendly. The location is a bit isolated. Anyway, we rented a motorbike from the neighbor at 200 baht per day. We moved to Baantonsai Garden Resort on the third and fourth day. The price at Baantonsai is cheaper, only 650 bath per night. Plus, the water here doesn't smell like rust. The location also is nearer to the beach. It is worth for basic stay.

In Phuket, just the person who drive the motorbike is require to wear the helmet. However, we still seeing a lot of drivers don't wear the helmet. that's way the fatal rate from motorbite is so high. It is better to get 2 helmets, one for the driver and another one for the rider at the back. Motobike is convenient and can access to anywhere.

We also went for house riding in Bang Thao beach, more details in http://phuketdir.com/lagunariding/index.htm. According to my friend, the price is cheap. hmm... I don't know, I am not into horse riding. Anyway, Riding on the beach is a new experience. Since I have no riding experience, the boy was always pulling and leading the horse. He also made the horse running on the beach. My friend horse even went into the water.

We only went to the beach which near to Phromthep cape for swimming. I look on the map, it is called Yanui beach. It is small beach but the water here is cleaner and clearer than Patong. We even saw some fishes swimming here and there. We like it as it is less crowded and clean.

Patong Beach: The whole beach is full by the foreigners.

Baantonsai Garden Resort: It is cheap. Just a few minutes walk to the beach. Motobikes rental are available at 150 baht per day.

Prom Thep Cape: We went to there see sunset, but it was cloudy.

Kanohm Jin: I believe it is called Kanohm Jin after searching the name from internet. We like it, very nice but a little bit spicy.

While waiting...

I think I took this pic in last week, when I was driving home. It was about to rain and yet trafiic jam...

Lunch at Goh Teo Kee

My friend and I went to Goh Teo Kee restaurant at Sungai Ara, Penang for lunch today. In fact, it is quiet famous Teow Chew restaurant. However, we are disappointed with its food, it just not worth for the price. We had Belacan Fried Rice (not enough for 1 person) , Teow Chew Fried Mee (too salty), Old Cucumber Soup and another dish which got cabbage, mushroom and chicken (I don't know what it called, and also salty). No wonder there were only a few customers in the restaurant even it was lunch time...
