Food price

In recent days, we see riots have been broken out in some countries and food price surges to unreasonable high. The reasons are simple, biofuel so called energy revolution and disaster.

The rising biofuels production in the US and European Union consumes almost half of major food crops in the past year. Higher energy and fertilizer costs have also contributed to higher prices for all agricultural commodities. Most of these are likely to be permanent.

Droughts, especially in countries south of the equator, reduced wheat production in last year. And post-election violence in Kenya has led to shortages and price hikes in neighboring countries as well as Kenya.

I don't know it is a good idea to turn the food to fuel. it impacts most of the poor people. Imagine the people in Africa is dying because of hunger while some people are burning the food for the energy... god bless...
